Vols to add former Ensworth, Ohio State defensive back Turrentine


Tennessee landed a former four-star football signee through the NCAA transfer portal Monday, and one with four seasons of eligibility remaining. Former Ensworth High safety Andre Turrentine, who signed with Ohio State in 2021 and played in three games last season for the Buckeyes, announced via social media that we would be returning to the Volunteer State to continue his career. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder was the nation’s No. 9 safety and No. 169 overall prospect in the 2021 signing cycle, according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings. “It checked all the boxes I was looking for,” Turrentine told 247Sports of his decision to relocate, “and it just felt like home. It is home.” Turrentine committed to Ohio State in March 2020 and enrolled last summer before winding up at cornerback.
