Former Ohio State football safety Andre Turrentine to transfer to Tennessee

A week after putting his name in the NCAA transfer portal, former Ohio State safety Andre Turrentine announced he would transfer to Tennessee. “Committed,” Turrentine wrote in a tweet that shared a graphic of him in a Volunteers uniform. The move allows the Nashville native to return to his home state, where he was a composite four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. In one season with the Buckeyes, he was down on the depth chart and appeared in three games. He played only 10 snaps on defense, all of them in a 66-17 rout of Maryland in Week 6, according to Pro Football Focus. Most of Ohio State’s transfer portal entrants have announced landing spots. Safety Marcus Hooker and defensive lineman Noah Potter, who entered over the last 10 days, are the lone exceptions.  Joey Kaufman covers Ohio State football for The Columbus Dispatch.
