Maryland looked deflated. After a decisive start from the Terps, Ohio State had slowly sucked momentum from Maryland until it faced a do-or-die situation in the bottom of the ninth, down one run. With two runners on and no outs, Bobby Zmarzlak grabbed the plate. Then he delivered a shocker. Jolting energy throughout the Terps’ home-crowd, the junior clobbered one over the center-left wall, walking off as his teammates flooded the field. Powered by the late spectacular three-RBI homer, Maryland baseball snatched victory from the Buckeyes, 8-6. The Terps wasted little time kickstarting its offense. Luke Shliger smashed the opening pitch up the center of the diamond as Maryland racked up multiple hits in the opening inning, steadily exposing Ohio State thrower Nate Haberthier.
