An investigation into Haskins’ death could take several weeks. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the traffic homicide, but said in a statement Monday it will provide no further updates until the case is closed, which could take up to 90 days. The FHP determined Haskins attempted to cross Interstate 595 westbound on foot, was struck by a dump truck and was pronounced dead at the scene around 6:37 a.m. on Saturday.
