Why rewatching Ohio State football’s loss to Michigan made a Buckeye so angry


COLUMBUS, Ohio — As Ohio State center Luke Wypler tells it, some Buckeyes were hanging out before practice on Thursday morning when a modified version of Ohio State’s loss to Michigan last season appeared on the televisions in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, as shown by the Big Ten Network. “That TV almost came down,” Wypler said. That, apparently, was how the Buckeyes got fired up for their seventh practice of the spring, with an unwanted reminder of their first loss to the Wolverines in a decade. “I think it’s a little extra motivation right there,” Wypler said. “I think any time you see those colors or hear that name, it definitely clicks with you and gets you going in the morning.” The Ohio State-Michigan rivalry is a year-round endeavor.
