Madison native Lauren Bernard basking in Ohio State women’s hockey national title run

Lauren Bernard can be forgiven if the last couple weeks have felt like a whirlwind. When the Madison native took time March 30 to discuss the national championship run on which she and her Ohio State women’s hockey teammates had embarked, she was 10 days removed from the title game and one day removed from being an honored guest of the Blue Jackets for said run. Given the history and accomplishment, though — and the way it came together so flawlessly — Bernard would gladly embark on this whirlwind time and again. Bernard was a junior on defense with four goals and 20 assists for the 32-6 Buckeyes, who earned the first national title in program lore.
