Ohio State earns third straight top-10 finish in NCAA swimming & diving

Staff reports  |  The Columbus Dispatch The Ohio State men’s swimming and diving team finished ninth in the NCAA championships in Atlanta. It is the third consecutive top-10 finish for the Buckeyes. California won the title. The last time Ohio State finished among the 10 best teams at NCAAs for three consecutive years was from 1969-1972. “There is a saying, “Once is an accident, twice is coincidence and three times is a pattern,’” Ohio State director of swimming and diving Bill Dorenkott said. “We are starting to string together successes.” Seven Buckeyes earned first team All-America honors in five events: Charlie Clark (1650 free), Hunter Armstrong (100 back, 200 free relay), Sem Andreis (200 free relay), Jake Fielding (platform), Ruslan Gaziev (200 free relay, 400 medley), Alex Quach (200 free relay, 400 medley), Lyle Yost (1-meter, platform).
