Texas knocks off Ohio State to reach Elite Eight


For the second time in as many seasons, Texas has reached the Elite Eight.The second-seeded Longhorns eliminated sixth-seeded Ohio State from the NCAA women’s tournament with a 66-63 win Friday in the Sweet Sixteen at Spokane Arena. Texas will advance to face the winner of Friday’s other Spokane Regional semifinal matchup between No. 1 seed Stanford and No. 4 seed Maryland. Texas (29-6) overcame a slew of turnovers and a rare off night from star freshman guard Rori Harmon to beat the Big Ten champion Buckeyes (25-7) in a tense finish.
