PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Ohio State basketball made the NCAA Tournament for a fifth straight season, but once again failed to make it past the first weekend. After getting past Loyola Chicago in the first round the Buckeyes fell to Villanova on Sunday night despite solid outings from Malaki Branham and E.J. Liddell. Now they enter in offseason where they could come out on the other side without both. Liddell’s college career ended against the Wildcats. He flirted with the NBA before coming back another year and turning himself into an All-American. It’s been such an assumption that this would be his last season that even his head coach has had no problem saying so publicly when discussing what he’s meant to the program. “It’s not taken for granted by us,” head coach Chris Holtmann said. “I lose sleep over it.
