UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 1 Ohio State women’s hockey team is bringing home its first NCAA championship. The Buckeyes defeated Minnesota Duluth, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at Pegula Ice Arena on the campus of Penn State. It was the fifth game between the teams this season, with the Buckeyes winning their third on Sunday. Kenzie Hauswirth scored the eventual game-winning goal in the third period, banking a shot from the boards off a defender’s skate and into the net. Clair DeGeorge tied the game at 2-2 for OSU early in the third period when the Bulldogs goaltender misplayed the puck and DeGeorge knocked it into the net.
