COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s roster will be a little older and a little more crowded than originally projected for the spring. Ryan Day confirmed Monday that Jerron Cage will return for a sixth season, Teradja Mitchell will play a fifth season and Palaie Gaoteote IV will use his redshirt senior season as a Buckeye. For Cage and Mitchell, those are decisions made possible by the NCAA not counting the 2020 season against players’ eligibility due to the coronavirus pandemic. Day also said Sevyn Banks will not return for 2022, though he is scheduled to meet with the cornerback’s family on Tuesday.
