What Earnest Greene’s commitment to Georgia means for Ohio State football: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football had already had one successful offensive line recruiting story this week but couldn’t add another following Earnest Greene’s commitment to Georgia. The four-star recruit out of St. John Bosco High School is rated as the nation’s No. 40 player and No. 2 interior offensive lineman. He stood as the Buckeyes’ final target at the position and highest-rated of the bunch. Their best shot of getting him was always selling the Wyatt Davis plan as another former top 50 recruit from the California school, who developed into an All-American in Columbus. But that sales pitch couldn’t outweigh the chance to play in the SEC. He’ll instead be Kirby Smart’s 24th commit bringing the Bulldogs within 1.42 points of Alabama for the nation’s second-ranked nationally.
