Ohio State basketball stays put at No. 13 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball returned to the court for the first time in three weeks to get a win over Nebraska then stayed put at No. 13 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll. The Buckeyes’ 87-79 overtime win over Nebraska was made possible by a breakout performance from freshman Malaki Branham who scored 35 points on 13-of-19 shooting, knocking down six shots from three-point range. He is the sixth freshman in OSU history to make that many threes in a game. Despite having to cancel three games following a COVID-19 outbreak within the program, OSU’s standing in the AP Poll never waivered. Instead, its play prior to the outbreak mixed with the results around the country over the past three weeks allowed it to keep climbing upward, moving up one spot each week.
