Which Ohio State football players did not make the trip to Minnesota for Thursday’s season opener?


MINNEAPOLIS — Ohio State football coach Ryan Day’s declaration that the placekicker battle would go down to kickoff of Thursday’s opener at Minnesota apparently was not literal. Noah Ruggles, the graduate transfer from North Carolina, is the only scholarship kicker on the travel roster. Redshirt freshman Jake Seibert did not make the trip. Walk-on Dominic DiMaccio is the other kicker in attendance for the Buckeyes. He handled kickoffs last season when Seibert was the placekicker filling in for then-senior Blake Haubeil. Ruggles will be making his OSU debut after playing two seasons at North Carolina. He made 19 of 27 field goals in 2019, including 3-of-9 from 40-49 yards and 0-for-3 from 50 or more.
