COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s preseason camp decided position battles at quarterback, linebacker, in the secondary and elsewhere. Yet the Buckeyes will travel to Minnesota still searching for their primary placekicker. Ohio State coach Ryan Day said on his Tuesday radio show that the assessment of redshirt freshman Jake Seibert and graduate transfer Noah Ruggles will continue prior to Thursday’s 8 p.m. kickoff at Huntington Bank Stadium. “We’re going to take it all the way to game time before we decide who the kicker’s going to be,” Day said. At about the midpoint of camp, on Aug. 16, first-year special teams coordinator Parker Fleming said both Seibert and Ruggles were receiving equal reps — all of which were being charted.
