Which Ohio State football third-year players could break out? The annual Hooker-Lattimore Watch List


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Sometimes Ohio State football players receive a second chance to make a first impression. Buckeye fans knew Malik Hooker as a backup defensive back entering the 2016 season. With two interceptions against Bowling Green, he took on a new identity. Same for Marshon Lattimore, who was more known for his oft-injured hamstrings before his All-Big Ten breakout in 2016. It is in those players’ spirit that we came up with the Lattimore-Hooker Watch List. This award carries strict parameters. Candidates must be third-year players (juniors or redshirt sophomores) who did not hold starting jobs last season. Garrett Wilson, Harry Miller and Zach Harrison may all be on the precipice of monster seasons, but we saw them coming.
