The Buckeyes check in behind top-ranked Alabama, followed by Oklahoma and Clemson. That is the same top four as in the USA TODAY Sports coaches poll, albeit the two polls have the Tigers and Sooners reversed. This marks the 68th time that Ohio State has appeared in the AP’s preseason top 25 out of a total of 72 such polls. Also ranked were Big Ten teams Wisconsin (No. 12), Indiana (No. 17), Iowa (No. 18), and Penn State (No. 19). Cincinnati will begin the year at No. 8.
