COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State President Kristina M. Johnson — a two-sport athlete in her days as a Stanford undergrad — never used to wonder about how she could profit from her name, image and likeness. Four decades later, the biggest starts in college sports now wonder how much money they have passed up. After attending Monday’s executive order signing by Governor Mike DeWine, Johnson was asked how she would have felt if Buckeyes star quarterback Justin Fields had earned $1 million in endorsements annually last year. “It’s a market-driven world we’re in, that we believe in, and I would have been very comfortable with that,” Johnson said.
