WATCH: New Ohio State basketball assistant Tony Skinn discusses what he brings

It was a bit surprising when news broke that Chris Holtmann and the Ohio State basketball team lost long-time assistant Terry Johnson to Matt Painter and Purdue. It left a big hole on the coaching staff with plenty of interest from the outside. Holtmann tapped into Ohio roots in hiring Jake Diebler for one spot on the coaching staff, but this time he went from outside the program and the state when he tapped Tony Skinn to come to the banks of the Olentangy. Skinn comes from the DMV (D.C./Maryland/Virginia) area and played his college ball for George Mason before heading overseas for his professional career. Skinn has a very solid reputation across the college game, and hiring him will bring an outside perspective and unique outlook on things that could result in a new set of data points and schematics.
