COLUMBUS, Ohio — Paris Johnson Jr. could picture Ohio State football’s potential 2021 depth chart back when he was merely the nation’s best high school offensive lineman. Maybe he would need to spend his freshman season as a reserve. No shame in that. Freshman offensive line starters are rare, especially at programs with the Buckeyes’ talent backlog. The man some consider the most talented OSU offensive line prospect since Orlando Pace might not actually be able to follow his historic career step-for-step. By this fall, however, the left tackle spot which has been earmarked for Johnson since before he committed to OSU would be open. Johnson could begin working towards the next achievement many foresaw in his future — NFL first-round draft pick.
