Liddell was named the Post-Dispatch player of the decade, beating out current NBA standouts Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics and Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards. Both starred at Chaminade Prep. In high school, Liddell earned P-D player of the year honors in both 2018 and 2019 after helping the Maroons win back-to-back Class 4A championships. He’s one of only two players who’ve won back-to-back Mr. Basketball honors in Illinois, joining Chicago Simeon’s Jabari Parker. Parker, who played one season at Duke University before being selected No. 2 overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, is now with the Sacramento Kings.
