COLUMBUS, Ohio — One member of Ohio State football’s recent St. Louis connection will continue his career in his home state. Mookie Cooper announced in a Twitter post Tuesday that he is transferring to Missouri. The former top-100 prospect will have four years of eligibility with the Tigers after not playing for the Buckeyes this past season as a freshman. Cooper had entered his name in the transfer portal on Dec. 23. Cooper came to the Buckeyes as part of a touted four-man receiving class that also include Julian Fleming, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Gee Scott. He was expected to eventually develop into a contributor at slot receiver. However, Garrett Wilson emerged as a star in the slot this season, and Smith-Njigba’s future may lie at that position as well.
