COLUMBUS, Ohio — If you want to watch Ohio State play the College Football Playoff national championship against Alabama in person, either make friends with a Buckeye or open up your wallet. About 16,000 fans will be allowed into Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, for the Jan. 11 game. Ohio State said it and Alabama both received 3,750 tickets. However, none will be available to the public through the athletic department. Players and coaches receive up to six tickets apiece. The rest will go to students and donors. With that reduced capacity, prices on the secondary market are already spiking. The lowest price ticket on Stubhub early Sunday evening was $1,149. On Seat Geek you could find one for a relative bargain: $1,037.
