Paris Johnson has been considered Ohio State football’s left tackle of the future since the former five-star prospect committed in June 2018. Friday night against Clemson in the Sugar Bowl playoff semifinal, the Buckeyes urgently needed Johnson to be their utility man of the present. Actual starting left tackle Harry Miller was back in Columbus due to a positive coronavirus test. His fill-in, Matthew Jones, left the game for injury reasons with 2:14 to play in the first half. The usual next man in line, Enokk Vimahi, also did not make the trip.
