Ohio State football’s Shaun Wade and Wyatt Davis continue All-America march with AFCA recognition


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Shaun Wade became Ohio State football’s latest consensus All-American defensive back, and Wyatt Davis moved one step closer to unanimous status as both received first-team recognition from the American Football Coaches Association. The AFCA list was the third first-team honor for Wade among the five major lists. The cornerback was previously honored by the Associated Press and The Sporting News. He is the 11th Buckeye defensive back to earn consensus status since 1975 and third in the last five years, joining Malik Hooker (2016) and Jeff Okudah (2019). Defensive end Jonathon Cooper was a second-team AFCA selection — the first All-America recognition of the fifth-year senior’s career.
