COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football receiver Chris Olave’s return to active status appears to be on schedule. Olave could be seen in the background of a photo from Sunday’s practice posted on Twitter by OSU athletic director Gene Smith. Olave, in his red No. 2 jersey, appeared to be walking across the turf inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. The Buckeyes have been optimistic that Olave could return for the Jan. 1 Sugar Bowl against Clemson in a College Football Playoff semifinal. Olave was one of over a dozen Buckeyes who were not available for the Big Ten championship game victory over Northwestern on Dec. 19. Those absences resulted from an increase in positive tests for coronavirus in the week leading up to the game.
