COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two traditional college powers take undefeated records into their respective conference championship games this weekend. Ohio State is a national championship contender. Ranked No. 4 throughout this month-long lead-up by the selection committee, the Buckeyes likely face a win-and-you’re-in scenario against No. 14 Northwestern on Saturday. Southern California is, for all intents and purposes, an afterthought. Stuck back at No. 13, it is difficult to imagine the chain reaction of upsets that would need to take place in order for the Trojans to jump all the way into semifinal position.
