And they made it a crushing 35-0 lead midway through the third quarter with a huge assist from Fields, who wasn’t actually carrying the ball. On 3rd-and-1 from Ohio State’s own 36-yard line, Fields handed the ball off to senior running back Trey Sermon, who found an open gap in the Spartans’ defense and took off down the right side of the field.
