COLUMBUS, Ohio — Not so long ago, Michigan State served as an annual thorn in Ohio State’s side. Could the Spartans pose a sneaky threat to the Buckeyes on Saturday? Ohio State will come in at less than full strength due to coronavirus cases and contact tracing. The last time the Buckeyes were on the field they struggled to stop Indiana’s aerial assault. Michigan State beat Michigan earlier this season by similarly striking downfield with deep passes. The Spartans also just beat previously undefeated Northwestern, which is on target to represent the West Division in the Big Ten championship game. Despite all of that, cleveland.com’s staff feels comfortable taking the Buckeyes to cover a spread that stood at 23.5 points as of Thursday evening.
