COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football said it “increased and enhanced” its coronavirus testing over the past week, which is why it believes it can safely play at Michigan State on Saturday. The Buckeyes are scheduled to travel to East Lansing on Friday night in advance of Saturday’s noon kickoff. OSU coach Ryan Day, who has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not attend the game, said the team is scheduled for another round of testing prior to departure. An Ohio State news release said the program enhanced its polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing surveillance this week. That test is more sophisticated and accurate than the daily rapid antigen testing which all Big Ten teams do and which the Buckeyes also continued to do this week.
