Mel Tucker will get a reminder of his past this weekend. The first-year Michigan State coach’s team will face No. 4 Ohio State, the same program he served as an assistant with from 2001-04. Tucker coached defensive backs for Jim Tressel all four seasons with the Buckeyes – including for the 2002 team that won a national championship while Mark Dantonio was the defensive coordinator – and was the co-defensive coordinator in 2004 before spending a decade in the NFL. “It was a great time, we won a lot of games, we had a really good run there,” Tucker said. “I learned a lot as a coach and we recruited a lot of good players and sent a lot of good players to the NFL while I was there so I know about Ohio State, I know about the football there, I know about how important it is.” Michigan State…
