COLUMBUS, Ohio — Considering the abundance of postponements around college football due to the coronavirus pandemic, Ohio State’s players were not shocked to learn last week’s game at Maryland had been canceled. That does not mean they were happy about it. In their first interviews since the cancellation due to Maryland’s COVID-19 outbreak, multiple Buckeyes said they were initially upset about losing another game. The virus had already shortened a normally 12-game regular season to eight. Each game is a precious commodity. The players also said they realized the cancellation was just another mental challenge in a long list of them in 2020.
