COLUMBUS, Ohio — A weekend hot list on the Ohio State Buckeyes before their Saturday night game against Rutgers, with the five things on my mind about this football team: 1. Pete Werner chasing 2,000 snaps They’re closing in on 4,000 snaps as a unit, which is a lot of reading, reacting, covering and tackling. And none have done it more than Pete Werner. Ohio State’s three starting senior linebackers have played a combined 288 snaps this season (according to the Eleven Warriors snap counts, which are the source for all snap counts in this piece.) That’s 109 snaps for Baron Browning, 104 for Werner and 75 for Tuf Borland, as the younger OSU backers haven’t rotated in all that much through the first two games. Over their careers, which started in 2017 when Borland was a redshirt freshman and Browning and Werner were true freshmen, they’ve played 3,839 snaps.…
