COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has abandoned its six-man wide receiver rotation, and it could lead to a historic year for Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. The Buckeyes had never had two players have 100 receiving yards in back-to-back games in the program’s 109-year history. Those two did it in the first two games. There are five 1,000-yard season in school history, with Parris Campbell being the latest in 2018. Those two are on pace to be No. 6 and No. 7 on that list. Michael Thomas is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL, but in Columbus, he couldn’t muster 1,000 yards, because of the team’s belief in the strength of depth at the position. Terry McLaurin, who’s gone from slow-developing Buckeye to the Washington Football Team’s No. 1 option, had the same experience.
