COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football is in a battle with Alabama for its first recruiting championship in 2021, and it could be fighting for back-to-back titles. Following four-star tight end Benji Gosnell’s commitment Wednesday night, the Buckeyes’ 2022 class has 161.06 total points with an average star rating of 94.59, according to 247Sports.com. The point total is 3.55 points ahead of LSU, which had held the top spot for most of the year. As four-star commit Dasan McCullough has hinted a few times over the last week, Gosnell’s commitment could be the beginning of a big month for Ohio State. Gosnell checks off the need for a second tight end alongside Bennett Christian, and there’s could still be a fourth linebacker added to the mix.
