Should Ohio State football target a five-star quarterback in every recruiting class? Buckeye Talk


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Quinn Ewers of Southlake Carroll High School decommitted from Texas as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class, and immediately all momentum favored Ohio State football. That would be a significant first land for quarterback’s coach Corey Dennis as Ewers would be the second-highest rated OSU commit in the modern recruiting era behind Terrell Pryor. Head coach Ryan Day wants to turn the Buckeyes into “QBU,” and getting Ewers is a step in that direction. Except what does that mean for Kyle McCord, Jack Miller and C.J. Stroud? Miller committed in 2018 with the understanding that he’d be the future starter in Columbus, then stayed loyal when told the Buckeyes would have to add another to the 2020 class for the sake of numbers in the room.
