Penn State-Ohio State rapid reaction: Buckeyes 38, Nittany Lions 25 (Beaver Stadium)


STATE COLLEGE — Penn State’s string of gritty efforts against Ohio State at home — the memorable 2016 win included — came to an end Saturday night at Beaver Stadium. The Buckeyes, on the strength of a terrific performance by quarterback Justin Fields, toyed with the Nittany Lions’ defense while PSU’s offense, save for a couple of great catchs by junior wideout Jahan Dotson, got little going against the visitors in a 38-25 defeat. So Penn State is now 0-2 with six Big Ten regular-season games left and No. 3 Ohio State (2-0) looks poised to again make another serious run at an undefeated year. The game was probably not as close as the final score, as Ohio State finished with 526 total yards but also missed field-goal attempts of 20 and 23 yards.
