Ohio State football’s young wide receivers may have to grow up fast against Penn State: Buckeye Take


COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football program brought in four top-100 receivers in its 2020 recruiting class who have the ability to make an immediate impact, and the Buckeyes might need exactly that in their first road game Saturday against Penn State. It’s still unclear whether Chris Olave will be available after taking a hard hit in the second half of Saturday’s 52-17 win over Nebraska. Until that play, OSU relied heavily on him and Garrett Wilson for production in the passing game, as the two combined for 13 catches for 233 and a touchdown on 14 targets. The other seven throws were divided between tight ends Luke Farrell and Jeremy Ruckert; receivers Jameson Williams, Julian Fleming and Jaxon Smith-Njigba; and running back Trey Sermon.
