Ohio State up to No. 3 in Amway Coaches Poll behind Clemson, Alabama


CLOSE For the first time, the Big Ten has actual results for the voters in the Amway Coaches Poll to consider this season, to the benefit of some and the detriment of others. The main beneficiary is Ohio State. The Buckeyes ran away from Nebraska in their season debut and vault to No. 3 in the poll, retaining a pair of first-place votes. Ohio State leapfrogs No. 4 Notre Dame, despite the Fighting Irish’s dominant road win at Pittsburgh, and No. 5 Georgia. Penn State was not as fortunate after falling in overtime at Indiana in its opener. The Nittany Lions drop 10 spots to No. 17, and must now rebound quickly with Ohio State coming to Happy Valley next week.
