COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football does not return to the field for almost a month, but it returns to the college rankings this weekend. On my ballot, the Buckeyes are also returning to the top. The Associated Press decided Ohio State and every other team from a conference that has decided to play this fall are again eligible for the Top 25 poll. Since the preseason poll, only those teams who planned to play this fall and who had announced their schedules were eligible. Ohio State received 21 first-place votes in the preseason poll to rank No. 2 behind Clemson. As I did in the preseason, I placed the Buckeyes ahead of Clemson and Alabama.
