COLUMBUS, Ohio — The nation’s top wide receiver in the 2020 recruiting class is officially an Ohio State football player after Julian Fleming lost his black stripe. His commitment in May 2019 marked the first time in the modern recruiting era that the Buckeyes have brought in the No. 1 player at the position as the third-highest rated commit in the school’s history. He also is the starting point for what could quickly turn into OSU taking five-star talents out of Penn State’s backyard every year. Fleming comes from Southern Columbia, where he was named a finalist for the National Gatorade Player of the Year award after leading the Tigers to a third-straight Pennsylvania Class 2A State Championship with 1,448 yards and 21 touchdowns on 68 catches.
