Ohio State football’s Trey Sermon and Master Teague healthy and building towards running back tandem


COLUMBUS, Ohio — In the span of six months, the vibe around Ohio State football’s running back situation transitioned from trepidation to cautious optimism to excitement. Senior tight end Jake Hausmann has seen it, even though the Buckeyes have yet to practice in pads. Master Teague and Trey Sermon are healthy and beginning to establish a new dimension in the backfield. “It’s going to be fun to watch those two guys,” Hausmann said. Ohio State began spring practice with precious little proven depth at running back, then lost most of it before the end of the first workout. When the original 2020 season timeline had the Buckeyes opening their season on Sept. 3, Teague’s Achilles injury seemed like a catastrophe.
