COLUMBUS, Ohio — Justin Fields impressed Ohio State football’s coaches with his offseason workout despite the uncertainty of the 2020 season. The Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback also took his physical preparation in a new direction. Co-offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said Friday that Fields transitioned to a vegan diet in the offseason. He is one of a few Buckeyes who have adopted that lifestyle. “He wanted to be leaner, take care of himself a little better,” said Wilson. “He made a commitment, because he wanted to be a little bit leaner — wanted to take care of himself even better, wanted to be faster. He just made a commitment to a style of diet.
