What will be the closest game on Ohio State football’s new 2020 schedule? Buckeye Talk’s Mark It Down Monday


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football fans are conditioned to expect four quarters of concern from any trip to Penn State. A one-point win in 2018. The loss two years before that. A double-overtime Buckeye victory in 2014. No place threatens to instill an Ohio State season with more unhappiness than Happy Valley. The Big Ten’s current fan attendance policy will prevent Penn State’s usual “whiteout” conditions when the Buckeyes visit on Halloween. Will that still be the closest game any opponent gives Ohio State in this revamped regular-season schedule? Will that distinction instead go to Michigan, which comes to Ohio Stadium on Dec. 12 in the Big Ten’s biggest rivalry game? Only once in the past six meetings have the Wolverines played within one score of Ohio State. Are they due for a challenge worthy of the rivalry’s history and attention?
