COLUMBUS, Ohio — Shaun Wade’s 22nd birthday dinner Wednesday night was originally supposed to including him formally signing with an agent and beginning his pro career. Instead, the Ohio State football redshirt junior put off that decision. The highlight instead became a series of phone calls — OSU coach Ryan Day, former Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer, all the way down to Wade’s first youth football coaches. They were not calling to discuss the major decision hanging over Wade’s head — whether to return to Ohio State or move on to NFL Draft preparations. They were instead calling to talk about Wade the man, teammate and player. Wade woke up Thursday morning with a refreshed perspective.
