Trey Sermon becomes the first player to lose black stripe in 2020: Ohio State football news


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football got a chance to add some normality back to its fall camp with running back Trey Sermon being the first player to lose his black stripe this season. He joined the Buckeyes over the summer as a graduate transfer from Oklahoma where he ran for 2,076 yards and 22 touchdowns on 339 career attempts. No Buckeye lost their stripe during the shortened spring and Sermon didn’t get to Columbus until June. The Georgia native joins a position room that lost OSU’s first-ever 2,000-yard running back in J.K. Dobbins. He and Master Teague are expected to carry the rushing load this season. Sermon is one of 26 newcomers to Ohio State along with a 2020 recruiting class that was the No. 5 class in the country and No. 1 in the Big Ten.
