Wednesday started with a bang in the college football world, as the Big Ten announced that it will indeed return to action starting Oct. 23 and 24 after persistent rumors that the league could reverse its decision to postpone its fall football season. The move has massive implications that reach far beyond the conference, as it will very likely affect the College Football Playoff. It appears that the pressure applied by fans, players, coaches and even at times senior administrators paid off. Nebraska and Ohio State were two of the most vocal programs advocating for a reversal of the postponement, with OSU president Kristina Johnson publicly acknowledging that she voted against stopping the season.
