Big Ten football returns but will fans be permitted for Rutgers games? What about Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska and Penn State?


Long before the Big Ten announced it was postponing its football season back in August, several conference schools announced plans to allow a limited amount of fans for their games. While Rutgers announced it would abide by Gov. Phil Murphy’s statewide limit of 500 people at outdoor gatherings and not allow fans for games, Ohio State said home attendance would be capped at 20 percent, which meant approximately 21,000 fans would be permitted to sit in the Buckeyes’ 105,000-seat stadium. And Nebraska officials indicated they could have as many as 30,000 fans for Cornhusker games this fall. On Wednesday, the Big Ten issued a stiff-arm to the schools opening their doors to fans this season.
