Travis Shaw’s, 2022 DT, head coach sees Larry Johnson’s North Carolina roots as positive for Ohio State football: Buckeyes Recruiting Roundup


COLUMBUS, Ohio — When North Carolina defensive lineman Travis Shaw of Grimsley High School narrowed his options down to 13, Ohio State football was the only Big Ten team to make the cut. The Buckeyes made a list littered with ACC and SEC schools, and that’s primarily because of the efforts of defensive line coach Larry Johnson. “Coach Johnson has reached out quite a bit over the last year and a half,” Shaw’s high school Darryl Brown told cleveland.com. “Him having North Carolina roots is big. He’s been a joy to be around when he comes by and visits and when we talk on the phone. It’s always good to hear from him.
