Who from Ohio State serves on the Big Ten committees that decide when football returns?


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State has made public its belief that college football can be safely played this fall — as early as mid-October. The Buckeyes are also well-represented to make that case in the behind-the-scenes deliberations continuing this weekend as well. The Big Ten updated its website to reflect which individuals serve on the various committees tasked with determining a safe return date for fall sports. The Council of Presidents and Chancellors includes all 14 university leaders and will ultimately vote on if and when fall sports will resume. This is the body that originally voted 11-3 in favor of canceling the fall season. The steering committee is a subgroup of the COPC that ensures “the necessary protocols and processes” to return to competition. Ohio State President Kristina M. Johnson also serves on this committee. The executive committee is composed of the chairpersons of all of the other committees.…
